JusticeforLB Herb Audit Office report launched
Many of you will have seen that the National Audit Office launched a report today Care services for people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour following their investigation into care services for people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. The report looks like this:
We are not offering our response to this report, instead we have produced our own version relating to the JusticeforLB campaign. We obviously can not access the National Audit Office, so you’ll have to make do with the JusticeforLB Herb Audit Office.
Our report is called Actually improving care services for people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. You can download it by clicking on the cover above, or the link here. The report examines the challenge faced in delivering key commitments of the JusticeforLB campaign manifesto, the extent to which these have been achieved, and the barriers to achieving JusticeforLB and actually improving care services for people with learning disabilities.
Our headline message is that we believe that the JusticeforLB campaign demonstrates that a considerable amount can be achieved if you strip away layers of tired bureaucracy, hierarchy and vested interests and just get on with it. In a genuinely collective way. We’d like to thank each of you for the part you’ve played in the campaign for JusticeforLB and other learning disabled dudes.
You told us that we have made an impact in the eleven months that we have been in existence, and all of this has been achieved with no money or dedicated resources, just bucket loads of love and commitment. We have a long way to go, but we thought it was important to take note of how far we’ve come.
The report is dedicated to the memory of Tracey Taylor, Champion and Trustee of My Life My Choice and JusticeforLB supporter, who died last week. You can see Tracey in action on the MLMC film here.
